Free case review

Send us the facts and the documents. We read them before we call.

About ten minutes. Short, factual answers are best. The most important thing you can give us is a copy of your governing documents and the association's notices.

Which community is this about?

We check every request for conflicts of interest before we review it, so the exact names matter.

Please enter the association's name.
It is usually on the letterhead of your notices.
Please enter the city and ZIP.
Our attorneys are licensed in Nevada. Please continue. With your permission, we can connect you with an independent attorney licensed in your state.

What is the dispute about?

Check everything that applies.

We generally do not take disputes that are mainly about unpaid assessments or collections, unless you want to take the dispute through the state mediation process on a fixed-fee basis. Please continue if that is the case.
Is this mainly about assessments you owe, late fees, or collections?

Where do things stand?

What happened?
Copy it from the notice if you can. Leave blank if the dispute is not about a rule.
If you received a violation notice, is what it describes accurate?

Five to ten sentences. Stick to what happened and when. Dates, amounts, and what is in writing help most.
Please describe what happened.
What documents do you have?

We cannot begin a review without the governing documents. Check what you can provide.

Do you have a copy of the CC&Rs (the declaration)?
Please choose one.
That is common, and it is fixable. Please continue. Our guide to getting your governing documents explains where to find them, and we will remind you by email. We can start the review as soon as we have them.
Besides your own account, what proof is there?
Please choose one.
Disputes that rest on one person's account against another's are very hard to prove. You can still submit. If you have any letters, emails, photos, or records at all, attach or mention them.
Attach documents (optional)Up to about 8 MB in total. CC&Rs are often larger than that. If so, submit without them and reply to our email with the file.
What is at stake, and what would resolve it?
About how much money is at stake?

Fines, fees, the cost of what the association wants you to change, or the cost of what it will not fix.

Please choose one.
For a dispute of this size, hiring a lawyer usually costs more than the dispute itself. Please submit anyway. We will point you to self-help letters and the state's own process, which you can use without a lawyer.
What are you looking for?
